#Hubble30 We are taking a look back at Hubble's anniversary images. This was the anniversary image from 2012: a panoramic view of a star-forming region. 30 Doradus is the brightest star-forming region in our galactic neighbourhood and home to the most massive stars ever seen. The nebula resides 170 000 light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small, satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. No known star-forming region in our galaxy is as large or as prolific as 30 Doradus. The image comprised one of the largest mosaics ever assembled from Hubble photos and includes observations taken by Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 and Advanced Camera for Surveys, combined with observations from the European Southern Observatory’s MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope which trace the location of glowing hydrogen and oxygen. Can you guess what Hubble’s 30th anniversary image will be? Leave us a comment below! Image credit: NASA / @europeanspaceagency . @esoastronomy , D. Lennon and E. Sabbi (ESA/STScI), J. Anderson, S. Hubble watches light echo from mysterious erupting star. This picture from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope's Advanced Camera for Surveys dramatically demonstrates the echoing of light through space caused by an unusual stellar outburst in January 2002. The image was taken on 17 December 2002. The image is combined from exposures taken through blue (B), green (V), and infrared (I) filters. Image credit: NASA, @europeanspaceagency and H.E. Revisiting the Veil Nebula This image shows a small section of the Veil Nebula, as it was observed by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope. This section of the outer shell of the famous supernova remnant is in a region known as NGC 6960 or — more colloquially — the Witch’s Broom Nebula. Close-up of the Tarantula Nebula This star-forming region of ionised hydrogen gas is in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small galaxy which neighbours the Milky Way. #Hubble30 We are taking a look back at Hubble's anniversary images. This was the anniversary image from 2015: the cluster Westerlund 2 and its surroundings. The image’s central region, containing the star cluster, blends visible-light data taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys and near-infrared exposures taken by the Wide Field Camera 3. The surrounding region is composed of visible-light observations taken by the Advanced Camera for Surveys. Can you guess what Hubble’s 30th anniversary image will be? Leave us a comment below! • Mencioname, ¡QUIERO VER LA TUYA!
